A Bittersweet Goodbye

This past week was full of tears, laughter and lots of hugs. On Sunday morning, Kaeo and Glo
blessed their adorable baby boy Jethro at their ward in Salt Lake. It was a beautiful
and spiritual blessing. And Jethro was so quiet all through the meeting. I figured with how
young he is, he'd be upset by everyone holding him and passing him around.
But he was just a perfect angel. So were all the other grand babies in our family.

Monday and Tuesday was filled with lots of packing on Kaeo and Glo's part and lots of trying to
get them to stay a little longer on everyone else's part. On Monday night, Lola and Nathan invited Glo, Kaeo and me to go bowling with them. Tia, Marie, Ben, Hannah and Peter weren't able to join us that night.
But, we had fun even though it was just the 5 of us adults and Brooklyn, Langi and Jethro. We played three games and it was three games full of teasing, laughing and just plain fun. I do have to say that the second game was most fun for me....because I won. :) Well, I tied with Nathan for the win. But, it was still exciting for me because I rarely win when I bowl.

Tuesday was a blur. It felt like it went by way too fast. But, we managed to pack as much activities into the day as we could. We all went over and made stepping stones for my parents. We put the babies feet into cement molds and it was so funny to see each of their reactions. Needless to say, they weren't all too excited to have us trying to make their feet all flat so the print would look good. We had to do some
of the prints more than once but it was such a fun activity.
For the rest of the night, we all just stayed together and ate, sang, laughed, talked, cried and
did it all over again all night long. Tia, Marie and the twins left early during the night. But the rest of us stayed the night. We were all up till about 3 am. I was actually surprised that even Brookly, Langi, Kymani and Jethro were able to stay up late with all of us. But, it was so much fun. Still, the night seemed to go by way too fast because before we knew it, Wednesday morning came and it was time to go to the airport.
By 5 am, we had all gotten only about 1 1/2 to 2 hours of sleep and we were starting to get
ready to see Kaeo, Glo and Jethro off to Hawaii. I felt like if I got ready really slowly, it would make them stay longer. But, I knew they would probably just have to rush to leave because I was going too
slow or they'd rush me to go faster. Either way, by 6 o'clock we were all off to the airport to say our
last farewells. We spent our last few minutes trying to laugh to keep the tears from coming and taking as many pictures as we could. We all stayed right up until the very last minute when Glo had to rush to get in line at the security check point. It was so hard to see them go. I cried half of the way home and then just fell asleep because the night had finally caught up to me.
It's hard to think that the Alo's are so far away. But, I'm so happy to know that we will be seeing them soon. Whether it's when they come back to visit us or we go to Hawaii to visit them.

When they finally went to sleep, we put them all together on Lola's bed...so cute!

The sisters, minus Marie and Clarinis who couldn't be with us at the airport

She was so sad to see them leave, she had this look on her face during the car ride home until she fell asleep
